Tra grammatica e politica: l’uso delle preposizioni v е na davanti al termine Ucraina

This paper analyzes the use of the preposition in that in Ukrainian and Russian can assume the form v or na. In the 20th century the use of both prepositions has assumed political meanings which has diversified the semantics of the expressions na Ukraine and v Ukraine (in Ukraine) and correlates. We aim to show the evolution of meaning of these prepositions, to explain the use of them in Ukrainian and Russian publicist and diplomatic texts, to demonstrate how scholars and publicists motivate the use of v and na and to highlight correlate problems.

The paper deals with the problems of lexicographic description of Russian and Polish theolinguistic terminology. We describe theolinguistics as one of the subdisciplines of linguistics, which main focus is on the reflection of religion in language. We present the most important achievements in the given field at the turn of the 20th and 21st cc., specify the relevant theoretical and applied aspects of contemporary theolinguistic studies. The research is based on the processed questionnaire data gathered during the ethnolinguistic expedition to Indra municipality in the rural part of the region of Kraslava in June, 2007 (120 respondents). The paper analyzes the answers of the respondents regarding the ethnic self-identification of the people, their knowledge of languages, the dominance of languages,, and their functions in the micro and macro environments of Indra municipality. <title>Latvian and Russian textbooks: eye movements in reading text formatted in two columns</title>

Research of eye movements in reading textbooks suggests that reading the Cyrillic-based Russian language differs from reading the extended Latin-based Latvian texts. Ten bilingual students were asked to start reading a book passage in Latvian and to continue reading the text in Russian. Key parameters in information processing have been analyzed. Even though the difference in duration of fixations does not reach statistical significance, saccade size and regression rate are smaller in Russian.

This article is devoted to strategy named "dialogue with the text" for development of text and culturological knowledge and abilities of pupils of schools of the ethnic minorities of Latvia. Formulating the problem of research, authors focus attention on the reasons of difficulties which are experienced by pupils of diaspora perceiving the implied levels of the text.
